Once an old, early 20th century farmhouse set on the pleasant terraced slope of the hill overlooking Santa Margherita Ligure and its gulf, it was, a few years ago, completely restructured and transformed into an elegant villa of classic Mediterranean character and charm. The completely independent, three-floor villa has an area of about 250 sq m and is simply and elegantly furnished with colours in which white, the red of the antique terracotta and the warm parquet floors predominate. In one lower part of the park a large stone annex, a veritable suite, completes the property. The villa is surrounded by a huge private park whose vivid green lawn contrasts with the intense blue of the sea which the entire property overlooks. The splendid swimming pool, too, is located in a very panoramic position overlooking the Gulf of Tigullio and the green Natural Park of Monte di Portofino, where the mountain meets the sea. Villa Ferrari Fontana represents the best opportunity for an ideal holiday for both those who love the seaside and those who prefer to explore the natural and historical beauties of the Ligurian Riviera.
Facilities
The villa has three floors plus an annex detached from the main building. There are two different accesses, a pedestrian one which, down twenty steps from the main access to the property, leads to the main entrance on the first floor. The other access is for vehicles, which, through a private drive within the property, leads to the garage located in the lower part of the park. From the garage you accede to the villa up a 47-step stone path. VILLA: The ground floor consists of an open-plan space facing directly out onto the swimming pool and the lawn and entirely dedicated to the living area, with a large sitting area with sofas, fireplace and satellite TV, and a dining area with table and chairs. Three steps lead up to the fully-equipped kitchen, open to the dining area. Both an internal staircase and an external passageway lead up to the first floor. On the first floor are two double bedrooms and two bathrooms, one with shower and one with tub and shower attachment. From this middle floor a few more steps lead up to the highest part of the villa, consisting of a single bedroom and a double bedroom sharing a large bathroom with shower. ANNEX: This is a stone building located in a lower terrace of the park with respect to the main villa. It is reached down a flight of steps and can be considered a veritable suite, with a small kitchenette, ideal for breakfast, as well as two single, joinable beds and a bathroom with shower.
The completely fenced private park covers an area of about 2700 sq m located entirely at the front of the property, facing the sea. The entire property extends over terrain consisting of large terraces, once cultivated with fruit and vegetables but today completely covered by lawn, that slope gently downhill. The dry stone walls of the various terraces are adorned by flowering plants, creepers and Mediterranean flora. On the level where the swimming pool is located, a large panoramic area with pergola has been set up as an outdoor dining area, with table and chairs, a built-in barbecue, an electric fryer and a sink. In addition to this outdoor dining area, table and chairs are also located on the pool level terrace next to the living area and the kitchen. At the poolside an outdoor sitting area with armchairs and sofa faces the sea with a breathtaking view.
The kidney-shaped pool measuring about 12 x 4 m (for an area of about 48 sq m) with a constant depth of 1.50 m, is located on the terrace in front of the ground-floor living area, surrounded by stone paving and with a wonderful view over the entire gulf. Lined with intense sea-blue PVC, the pool has chlorine purification and semi-circular Roman steps for access to the water. The stone-paved sunbathing area, besides sunbeds, is equipped with an outdoor living area with tables and chairs right next to the living area entrance. The pool is available to guests from the last Saturday of April to the first Saturday of October.

Location
Villa Ferrari Fontana, although situated on the most panoramic rim overlooking the Gulf of Tigullio, enjoys an extremely strategic position that allows you to get to the most important and well-known localities on the Ligurian Riviera in just a few minutes. Santa Margherita and Rapallo, with their beaches, restaurants and elegant shops, are equidistant from the villa and reachable in just a few minutes, while Portofino is just 10 pleasant and panoramic kilometres away. Not to be missed is the famous natural oasis of the Abbey of San Fruttuoso with its beach accessible only by sea, thanks to the numerous boats that depart from Santa Margherita. The abbey is also reachable, for excursionists, along a panoramic hiking path in the Natural Park of Portofino. The protected area of the Cinque Terre can be reached by car in about an hour and a half, but is perhaps more easily reached by train from the station of Rapallo, just 3 km away; you can take a bus to the station from the stop located just 20 m from the villa entrance.
